The CVS Procare pharmacy on 2nd Ave, between 8th and 9th, is closing. This was once Estroff Pharmacy and, while it became a CVS, it maintained its small-business personality. Looks like a good spot for another Subway or Starbucks:

Thanks for the Chill shout out! It was a magical day and night!
Estroff vanished and now CVS...they will transfer prescriptions. Ask them for particulars.
Poor Rocco's...They really are the best. Some fool probably found mistook a chocolate chip for a cockroach and called the DOH. I don't want to eat or be exposed to filth, but so very few of places the DOH shutters qualify as anywhere near unacceptable. It's mostly an extortion racket, and the A,B,C etc. ratings are the worst that ever happened to independent business in the city.
Damn....I always liked that little pharmacy. They carried a great selection of holistic remedies and a helpful staff. Nice, friendly vibe in there. A shame.
it's like why would a corp like cvs buy up a family run neighborhood pharmacy then close it down a few years later? what assholes. it's annoying. now i have to use duane reade on 3rd. annoying.
