As you know, Rudy's Music Stop closed this year, another casualty along dead and dying West 48th Street's Music Row.

The Rudy's Bass Shop sign would make a great piece of framed 'art'.

Just to be clear: Rudy's Music Stop is not out of business.

Rudy Pensa has combined the 48th street location with his Broome Street location in Soho.

Ooooh...Something unique! You just have to laugh, or you will just go out of your mind. This seems like a glorified pop up shop temporarily holding the space till something bigger bites. Years ago this would have been a simple sidewalk coffee and magazine stand.

Yes, as Martin pointed out, Rudy's is not dead and the Broome Street location is quite nice. But the whole way W48th was destroyed is a disgrace. I bought a number of basses and other gear there in the mid-80s. It was great the way you could from Sam Ash to Manny's to Terminal to Rudy's and look for the best price. And "WE BUY GUITARS" (same side as Rudy's, where the garage is now) was a great place to kill time. Fred Smith (bass player from Television) worked there.
