Chez Brigitte, in the Village for 50 years and shuttered last summer to great despair, finally has a new tenant. It's a Tasti-D-Lite. It may be the "original" NYC fro-yo, but it's no Brigitte. And the chaining of the city continues:

Wow, we were just reminscing the other day about Chez Brigitte! So the space is finally rented after all this time and many months of lost rent for the greedy landlord. We don't need another Tasti Delite here either. There's already one just a few blocks south at Sheridan Square
Thanks for the plug! We'd love to have you if you'd like to join the team.
thanks karate. i am not so musical, but i do recommend some classics from rodgers and hart. "we'll have manhattan, the bronx and staten...island too..."
horrified about chez b.'s replacement. for one thing the fake ice cream sucks and for another, there's just no place like chez b. to really eat anymore.
disaster
So, the Chez Brigitte Tasti is apparently "closed for the winter," opening again on March 1. One has to wonder how this operation has the wherewithal to suck up three months rent without a yogurt sold.
Certainly, many a cutlet would've been consumed during the same period. Salt in the wounds for fans of the old joint...
