Although having Zamperla as a landlord could prove to be a nightmare, I'd love to see Ruby's and the other boardwalk businesses stay. What about Shoot The Freak?? Can they return?
So the Coney Cones people run The Pelican Hotel in Miami.
"The Pelican is the first hotel created by Italian fashion giant Diesel in Miami Beach..."
Just what Brooklyn needs!
SERIOUSLY? as in Diesel jeans? the people behind the "Be Stupid" campaign? you can't make this shit up.
As the late great Master used to say, "WEPA!" Let's hope the party keeps on keepin' on! The party on Oct. 29 should be quite a bash.
Plus, Amusing the Zillion reports that Popeyes Chicken is returning to Surf Avenue after a year's absence. The year-round business had been there for 27 years before getting booted by Thor Equities.
I like the food for nonfoodies. Christ, does everything have to be farm to table and faboo?
Kudos to La MaMa!! We may have lost the great Ellen Stewart, but creativity is still alive in the EV thanks to true pioneers like here. Everyone go out there and see a performance if you can! I've got my eyes on La Mama Cantata.
Coney Cones was one of the silliest things ever. Talk about coming in from out of town and misunderstanding your market... They seemed to think that Coney was Manhattan, and opened one of those crappy lunch places that litter the Midtown streets, complete with the shiny surfaces and "healthy" food. Glad they were wimpy businessmen though, and gave up bringing salads, paninis, and clean comfy living to Coney Island before they covered the place with that stuff.
